Teaching Truly is Learning!

November 15th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

I recently had an experience with a student which reminded me of why the name of my blog site is so true. I am new to technology and the many uses it provides. I recorded a musical collaboration between my community service group and the senior citizens which they visit weekly.
When I tried to move the music to my computer from a digital recorder, I lost the data. This is where the student comes in. This kid is really into tech, and is somewhat resistant to traditional methods and or materials. When I turned to him I wasn’t expecting the quickness of his interest and his commitment to figuring out what the issue was and how best to arrive at a solution. He not only was able to recover the data, he also loaded the music to the destination I was trying to send it to. He returned the music to the recorder and loaded it to a flash. Teaching became learning.
